Commercial Bank of Dubai Launches CBD Invest, Bringing Wealth Management into its Banking App
Key
Points
  • Wealth 360 gives customers a consolidated view of their finances, combining CBD accounts with selected external assets and liabilities in one dashboard.
  • At launch, customers can trade US-listed equities and ETFs with live pricing, backed by portfolio analytics that benchmark performance against global indices.
  • Elite and Private Banking clients get the digital tools alongside dedicated relationship managers, blending self-serve insights with human advice.

Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) has rolled out CBD Invest, a digital wealth management platform built directly into the CBD Mobile App, aimed at giving affluent, Elite and Private Banking customers a single place to invest, plan and track their finances.

The platform’s centrepiece is Wealth 360, which the bank is positioning as a market first, a consolidated view of a customer’s total financial position that pulls together CBD accounts alongside selected external assets and liabilities.

Rather than logging into separate apps to piece together a full financial picture, users get one dashboard showing how their wealth is structured and how it’s shifting over time.

On top of that sits a set of portfolio analytics tools that go further than basic performance tracking. Customers can benchmark their portfolios against major global indices, break down asset allocation, and see the key drivers behind their returns — information CBD frames as part of a wider push to “democratise” wealth data that was previously the preserve of institutional investors.

Investing Tied to Real Goals

The platform also introduces goal-based investing, letting customers tie specific investments to defined objectives and adjust their strategy as those goals evolve, encouraging a longer-term approach over short-term speculation.

What’s Available at Launch

At launch, customers can build and manage portfolios of US-listed equities and ETFs with live pricing, directly inside the CBD Mobile App. The bank says additional asset classes and features will be added over time.

Dr Bernd van Linder, CBD’s Chief Executive Officer, said the bank’s customers are looking for more than just digital tools, and actually want clarity and a trusted partner to help them navigate complexity, and that CBD Invest is designed to make investing more accessible while staying grounded in sound financial planning.

For Elite and Private Banking clients, the digital platform sits alongside, rather than replaces, CBD’s existing relationship managers and investment specialists, combining self-serve digital insights with human advice for more complex portfolio needs.

What It Means for UAE Banking

The launch makes up a broader strategy by CBD to position itself as one of the UAE’s leading premium wealth management providers, and reflects a wider regional trend of banks embedding investment tools directly into everyday banking apps rather than treating wealth management as a separate service.

As open banking matures across the Middle East, moves like this put CBD in more direct competition with both traditional rivals and fintech challengers building similar embedded-finance experiences.
