Interactive Brokers has expanded its agentic trading capabilities with the addition of ChatGPT and Grok, building on an ecosystem of AI integrations that started with Claude earlier this year.
The broker has also extended the asset classes available through these integrations to include options, futures and futures options, alongside the existing support for equities and ETFs.
Clients can link an existing IBKR account to ChatGPT, Grok or Claude at no extra cost, with no new account required and no passwords or API keys shared with the AI provider.
Once connected, users can interact with their portfolio in plain language — asking questions, analysing markets, and generating order instructions. Every instruction is reviewed and approved by the client in a dedicated AI Instructions tab before anything is submitted to the market.
“We continue to see growing interest from investors in using artificial intelligence as a more natural way to interact with financial markets,” said Milan Galik, CEO of Interactive Brokers. “Adding ChatGPT and Grok, together with support for options and futures, expands the ways clients can securely connect AI tools to Interactive Brokers for research, analysis and execution. We will continue to broaden the capabilities and asset classes available through these integrations over time.”
The integrations handle a range of tasks that would normally require manual research and order-building.
Clients can ask the AI to identify options strategies to protect gains on their largest stock positions and generate the order instructions automatically, screen holdings for overbought or oversold signals using technical indicators like RSI, place futures orders in plain language, or benchmark their portfolio’s momentum against a broad market index.
The new integrations sit alongside a suite of AI-powered tools already built into Interactive Brokers’ platforms directly.
These include AI Screeners that accept natural language descriptions to surface matching stocks from more than 70,000 global equities, an Investment Themes tool that maps companies and trends around a search term, a Connections feature that shows related companies, ETFs and derivatives for any stock, and Ask IBKR, which answers plain-language questions about a client’s own account data.
