Binance, the world’s largest blockchain ecosystem, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of SB Seker as Head of Asia-Pacific (APAC). In this role, Seker will lead the company’s regional strategy, building partnerships, driving adoption and reinforcing Binance’s commitment to responsible growth across one of the most dynamic markets in the world.

Seker brings more than two decades of experience across the public sector, fintech and blockchain industries. His background in law, compliance and strategy positions him well to navigate Asia-Pacific’s diverse regulatory environments while continuing to expand Binance’s presence there.

The Asia-Pacific region is often described as the heartbeat of the global digital asset market. With mass retail investors in Southeast Asia and institutional adoption in hubs like Singapore and Hong Kong, APAC has consistently proven to be ahead of the curve when it comes to crypto adoption.

That’s why Binance’s CEO, Richard Teng, is confident that Seker is the right person for the job:

“APAC has always been a key region for Binance, and Seker’s deep-rooted experience across its diverse markets makes him uniquely positioned to lead the company’s next phase of regional growth and engagement. With his strong background in financial services and regulated markets, we are confident that Binance can continue advancing our mission of fostering sustainable and responsible growth, while upholding the highest standards of compliance in APAC.”

Seker’s Vision for the Region

Taking on his new role, Seker is clear about what excites him the most: the chance to help shape a sustainable future for the digital asset ecosystem in one of the fastest-moving markets in the world.

SB SEKER Binance head of APAC

“APAC has emerged as a frontrunner in digital asset adoption with its unique market diversity and regulatory advancements. I’m truly excited to join Binance to help shape a sustainable, innovative, and compliant future for the digital asset ecosystem across the region alongside the talented team. By working closely with regulators, partners, and our broad community, I look forward to driving strategic initiatives and delivering robust operations throughout the region — underpinned by Binance’s steadfast commitment to user protection, transparency, and long-term regulatory alignment.”

In other words, his focus isn’t just about growing Binance’s footprint but doing so in a way that earns trust, aligns with regulators, and ensures long-term stability.

A Strong Track Record

Seker’s previous role was Senior Vice President at Crypto.com Group, where he managed global product development and legal and regulatory matters across APAC and MENASA. He has also held senior positions at Ant Group, Rothschild & Co, and Amicorp Group. Earlier in his career, he worked as a litigator in Australia before serving as a central banking lawyer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

This blend of legal expertise, regulatory insight and executive leadership is expected to support Binance’s goal of building long-term trust and stronger relationships with regulators and institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Looking Ahead

With Seker’s appointment, Binance is reinforcing its message that growth in crypto must go hand in hand with compliance and responsibility. His leadership will likely play a key role in shaping the company’s next phase of expansion in a region that continues to set the pace for global digital asset adoption.
