Gavin Chia joins IG Singapore as CEO, reporting to IG Asia Pacific & Middle East MD Matt Macklin.
He previously served as CEO at Moomoo Singapore, backed by Tencent, and brings over 15 years of industry experience.
IG cites his expertise in regulation, marketing, and growth as key to driving the firm’s next phase in Singapore.
IG Group has announced the appointment of Gavin Chia as Chief Executive Officer of IG Singapore, strengthening its leadership in one of Asia’s key trading hubs. Chia will report directly to Matt Macklin, Managing Director of IG Asia Pacific & Middle East.
Chia brings with him more than a decade of experience across financial services and online trading. Most recently, he spent five years at Tencent-backed digital broker Moomoo in Singapore, where he served as CEO for the past two years. His career also includes senior roles at PhillipCapital (Head of Corporate Development, APAC), CIMB Group, and CMC Markets Singapore, a direct rival of IG.
In a social media post announcing his new role, Chia expressed his excitement about the move:
